FBR Active Taxpayer List

Check ATL status

See whether a CNIC or NTN is on the Income Tax Active Taxpayer List that FBR publishes. This copy is refreshed weekly. IRIS and SMS 9966 remain the official live checks.

Search the weekly list

Enter a 13-digit CNIC or a 7-digit NTN. Dashes are optional. The number is checked and then discarded. It is not saved.

List published on TaxGuide Sep 26, 2026. 9,306,887 records from the FBR Income Tax file. TaxGuide does not store the number you type.

What the statuses mean

On the list

The number is in the latest Income Tax ATL file. That is the usual meaning of an active taxpayer, or filer, for withholding tax.

Not on the list

The number is missing from that file. FBR may still show In-Active or No record on IRIS. Those are different, and this page does not guess which one.

Late filer

Someone who filed after the due date stays off the list until the section 182A surcharge is paid. The weekly file does not mark that case separately.

Questions

How often is this list updated?

TaxGuide downloads the FBR Income Tax ATL every week and replaces the previous copy. FBR may publish a newer file between those runs. IRIS is the live check.

Does Active here mean the same as IRIS?

If the number is on the file, IRIS should also show Active, unless the file is older than a change made since the download. If the number is missing, open IRIS to see In-Active or no record.

Can I check with a phone?

Yes. Send ATL, a space, and the 13-digit CNIC or 7-digit NTN to 9966. That is an official FBR channel.
